Kevin Bergeron is coaching part time for his first year. He has been sailing since he was two weeks old. His whole life he grew up sailing on his grandfather's Catalina 42. When he was thirteen he learned how to sail a Capri 14.2 at a Boy Scout camp in Catalina. The next year he joined the Seal Beach Yacht Club Junior Sailing Team and learned how to sail a sabot. His second year of sailing with Seal Beach Y.C. he got First place in the Scuba Duba Cup for sabots and for lasers. In the summer of 2007 he held his title in the club's laser cup and also got 2nd place in Beach to Bay, 2nd in place Sea Festival, and 2nd place in Corinthian Cup in a laser. Aside from racing, he also volunteers to help coach the morning session of beginning sailors. He hopes that this coming year we will continue to expand our program and complete our goals.
