Seal Beach Yacht Club Junior Sailing Coaches
 Kevin
Bergeron has been coaching for our club for
three years. He has been sailing since he was two
weeks old. His whole life he grew up sailing on
his grandfather's Catalina 42. When he was thirteen
he learned how to sail a Capri 14.2 at a Boy Scout
camp in Catalina. The next year he joined the Seal
Beach Yacht Club Junior Sailing Team and learned
how to sail a sabot. His second year of sailing
with Seal Beach Y.C. he got First place in the Scuba
Duba Cup for sabots and for lasers. In the summer
of 2007 he held his title in the club's laser cup
and also got 2nd place in Beach to Bay, 2nd in place
Sea Festival, and 2nd place in Corinthian Cup in
a laser. Aside from racing, he is a student at Cerritos
College and he enjoys playing music with his band
Syndicated Noise.

Taylor
Leach Taylor Leach is returning for his 4th
year of coaching here at SLBYC. He has been part
of the Juniors program since 2002, and is on the
perpetual trophy. Currently he is studying film
at Cal State Long Beach. Outside of sailing, he
enjoys working on his Volkswagen bus, Skateboarding,
collecting vinyl records and making films, one of
which featured our Juniors program. He has won over
a dozen awards for his films. Taylor, throughout
his life has been an active member in his community
and through Boy Scouts of America he has proudly
earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Now in college he
is continuing and is an active member of Venture
Crew 120.

Eric
Hanna is joining us for his second year of
coaching. He is a senior at Los Alamitos High School
and is looking forward to graduating. Eric enjoys
racing with his father and grandfather on Nancy
J. He also enjoys racing his Laser. The past three
years he has won the Tuesday Night Twilight Series
and last year he placed 2nd in Beach to Bay. Eric
hopes to attend the Coast Guard Academy next year
and continue his racing there. When Eric isn’t
out on the water he can be found with the award
winning Marching Band and Drumline. He holds the
title of Assistant Drum Major in the Marching Band
and the cymbal section leader in the Drumline.
